Thanks for your interest in a rabbit from our barn! Please take a few minutes to read through this policy before reaching out — reading it in full is your responsibility, and reaching out about or purchasing a rabbit from The B’s Buns means you’ve accepted these terms either way. Details here may be updated from time to time as our practices evolve.

We list pet and breeding quality rabbits as they become available, so the best way to stay in the loop is to check our website or social media periodically. Once a rabbit is posted, it’s available first-come, first-served. That said, we care deeply about where our rabbits end up, so we may decline a sale at our discretion if we don’t feel it’s the right home for a particular rabbit — no hard feelings, just looking out for our animals. In these cases, we may offer an alternate rabbit if we feel one is a better match.

Our pricing reflects the individual rabbit. Pet quality bunnies are a flat rate of $100 and don’t include a pedigree. Breeding and show stock is priced based on quality, age, pedigree, and any show results. Prices may change without notice and aren’t negotiable, unless you’re purchasing multiple animals. To reserve a specific rabbit, we ask for a 50% deposit — non-refundable but transferable — with the balance due before pickup. We accept cash, Venmo, or PayPal (Friends & Family, or we’ll send an invoice if you’d rather cover the fee). A rabbit isn’t officially yours until it’s paid in full; until then, it remains in our care and ownership. Canceling a reserved rabbit within 48 hours of pickup incurs a $50 fee, or the deposit is forfeited. If a rabbit needs to stay with us longer than planned after being claimed, a $20 weekly boarding fee helps cover feed and space, though junior rabbits claimed early aren’t charged for the standard wait until they’re old enough to leave (10–12 weeks).

Every rabbit leaves us in good health to the best of our knowledge, but there’s a lot we can’t promise down the road — future health, temperament, fertility, show success, or how a rabbit will produce as a breeder. We do our best to confirm sex before a rabbit goes home, but please double-check yourself at pickup; mistakes are rare, but if one happens, let us know and we’ll sort it out together. Once a rabbit leaves our care, its wellbeing depends on its new environment, which is outside our control, so we’re unable to guarantee health beyond that point — though we’re always happy to talk through any concerns that come up. Veterinary costs after the sale are the new owner’s responsibility.

We’re located in northern San Luis Obispo County, right off Highway 101. Pickups typically happen at a location near us or at a show we’re already attending, at no charge; for biosecurity reasons, we generally don’t have buyers meet us at the property itself. For buyers or transporters coming from further away, we can meet partway along a few common routes — Highway 5 near Kettleman City, north as far as Salinas, or south as far as Santa Barbara — for a minimum $50 fee to offset travel time, gas, and mileage. If you’d rather use a transport service, we’re glad to discuss it, though as of this writing we have no firsthand experience with any particular company — only what we’ve heard from other breeders or read online, so please do your own research and understand the risk is yours to assume. If we come across information, good or bad, about a service you’re considering, we’ll pass it along, and we reserve the right to cancel a sale if we learn something concerning about a provider. Once a rabbit is in transport, we can no longer guarantee its health, wellbeing, or condition, as travel can be unpredictable and stressful for rabbits.

Once a rabbit is sold, we’re glad to hold onto it briefly if arrangements are made in advance — coordinating a transport meetup, bringing it to a show, or another case-by-case situation. Extended boarding isn’t something we can offer, though, and all sales are final; we don’t provide refunds, replacements, exchanges, or returns. We run a closed rabbitry for biosecurity reasons, protecting the health of our herd, and we hope you understand this policy exists for everyone’s benefit, including your rabbit’s future littermates and herd-mates here. Even after the sale, we’re just a message away if you ever have questions.

Breeding quality rabbits keep the pedigree name given by their original breeder — standard practice that can’t be changed — and any known faults or disqualifications will always be disclosed upfront, before money changes hands. We always recommend looking a rabbit over yourself before finalizing a purchase; we’ll share our honest opinion, but the final call is yours. Pet quality rabbits make fantastic companions but aren’t intended for the show table or breeding program,* and by purchasing one, you’re agreeing it won’t be bred under any circumstances.

*One exception: well-typed normal does may be advertised and sold as pets, but if intended for breeding, a $50 fee applies, along with an included pedigree and ear tattoo.

Whoever brings home one of our rabbits agrees to provide proper housing, food, and medical care for its entire life; never abandon, dump, or surrender it to a shelter; keep pet rabbits indoors, or at minimum never leave them outside unsupervised; and supervise young children any time they’re interacting with the rabbit.
